Chevening Fellowships
Please be informed that the Chevening Fellowships scheme offer awards for study on short courses (8-10 weeks) that focus on particular subjects aligned to the United Kingdom’s strategic international priorities. Fellowships are aimed at mid career professionals in positions of leadership and influence (or in line for such positions) who are active in the field of the Fellowship subject. This Embassy can nominate suitable mid-career professionals only if we are satisfied that they meet the ‘Profile of a Fellow’. The Embassy can nominate up to three candidates for each course. The FCO expects Fellows to have a good operational command of English, including oral expression. At present a minimum test score for English is not required to be eligible for a Fellowship. However, potential candidates with an IELTS score below 5.5 or a TOEFL score below 480 should not be nominated for a Fellowship course.
The courses available to applicants from Azerbaijan are:
1. CONFLICT RESOLUTION
University of York
DEADLINE 26 July
2. Implementing Human Rights Conventions
University of Nottingham
DEADLINE 22 August
The courses are fully funded by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office and will take place between January - March 2009.
