Advancing Human Rights Education, Dublin, 19-12 September 2008
This conference aims to explore how the vision and principles of the
Universal Declaration of Human Rights can contribute to education
provision. There will be a particular focus on how human rights concerns
- local and global - can be addressed in education systems. The main
target groups include teachers, teacher educators, and educationalists.
Proposals for papers and workshops relating to any of the above themes
are invited from lecturers, teachers, researchers, activists and
policy-makers for this event which revisits one of the seminal documents
of the 20th Century. Accepted proposals and papers will be considered
for inclusion in a special publication after the event.

The annual conference of the International Studies Association- Northeast (ISA-NE) will be held October 3-4, 2008 at the Holiday Inn Inner Harbor, Baltimore, MD.
ISA-NE invites paper and panel proposals on any subject related to international studies, broadly defined. Topics might include (but are not limited to) international relations theory, international law and organizations, foreign policy, globalization, human rights, international development, conflict resolution, military/strategic studies, the environment, feminist theory/gender studies, and international political economy. ISA-NE expressly welcomes research on critical constructivism, post-structuralism, and postmodernism and/or undertaken through these lenses.

Romanian Society for Lifelong Learning organises on 9th May 2008 the International Conference for the Dissemination of the project “Europe of the 27 – Welcome Bulgaria and Romania” – Decision No. 2007′ 1238/ 001- 001.
The conference continues the work undertaken within the European project with the same name of the 3 partner organisations from Romania, Germany and Bulgaria under the coordination of Romanian Society for Lifelong Learning. The project is co-financed by the European Union under the “Europe for citizens” Programme.
The general objectives of the project are: improving citizens’ knowledge on the European identity and diversity, promoting the cultures of Romania, Bulgaria and Germany with focus on aspects of cultural and linguistic diversity, promoting culture and mutual understanding between the citizens of Europe.

International Student Conference - Youth and Transition in Central Asia, April 23, 2008
Central Asian states faced a new world order alongside independence after the Soviet Union’s collapse. A vital characteristic of the new order was the transition from planned to a market economy. Undoubtedly this process affected society to a great extent. Equally, this process is getting faster and more penetrative due to the advanced technological age that we find ourselves in.
How does this process and transition affect Central Asian youth and how do young people perceive this, how is this process seen through their eyes?
The aim of this conference is to evaluate how Central Asian youth is coping with this transition, what are the opportunities available to them, the potential hurdles that they may face and the possible solutions that they have toward it. Davamını oxu
