Venice Summer School on Science and Religion, May 2009
We are writing to announce the second of three annual sessions of The Venice Summer School on Science and Religion held in Venice, Italy.
The summer school intends to be a key venue to expand and deepen the work of scholars interested in the interface of two of humanity’s most central approaches to the search for truth and meaning. Open to junior and mid-career scholars seeking enhanced engagement with central topics in science and religion.
The theme for the 2009 summer school is “Evolution and Human Uniqueness.” The school will meet 26 May through 30 May 2009. Lecturers include Frans De Waal, Karl Giberson, Simon Conway Morris, Michael Ruse, and Jozef Zycinski. The school directors are Karl Giberson, Thomas Jay Oord, William Shea, and Donald Yerxa.

Since 2007 it has hosted an intercultural summer academy funded by the Transatlantic Program of the European Recovery Fund and the Robert Bosch Foundation.
